July Fourth snowball recipe
What you need:
1 C flour
3/4 C + 3 / 4 C sugar, divided
1 / 2 C of unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 t of baking soda
1/4 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
3 / 4 C buttermilk
1 / 3 C of vegetable oil
1 large egg
2 T cool water
1 Envelope of unflavored gelatin
3 T of egg white powder
1 / 2 C warm water
2 C sweetened Flake coconut
Red and blue food coloring
How to make:
The oven temperature to 350 degrees allows the oven to warm the default.
Eight spray 8 oz oven safe trays with a non-stick cooking spray.
The surplus slightly shake flour the pans.
You throw together the flour, 3/4 C sugar and cocoa powder in a large bowl.
In the baking soda, baking powder and salt, add tossing to combine.
In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil and egg until mixed well together.
Pour the mix buttermilk in the flour mixture and whisk until just mixed.
Pour the batter bowls evenly into the 8 ready.
Place the shells on a baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until a toothpick each comes clean when in the Middle added.
Put the pans on wire racks and cool off 10 minutes.
Reverse of the bowls of the racks and on room temperature cool.
Place cool water in a microwave safe bowl and sprinkle the gelatin in the water.
Leave the gelatine in water for 5 minutes without interruption.
Sprinkle the egg white powder in warm water and whisk until well mixed.
With an electric mixer beat the mixture until it be foamy.
Add the remaining sugar 1 T at a time, after each addition, beat, until the mixture is thick and shiny.
Put the gelatin mixture into the microwave and heat on high for 18 seconds.
Pour the mixture gelatin in the mixture egg whites and stir, until in well mixed.
Place 1 / 3 of the coconut in a sealable bag.
Insert another third of the coconut in an other sealable bag.
Set enough red food coloring in a bag, the coconut shade of red to make, that you want.
You want place food coloring enough blue in the other case, that the coconut to make blue colour.
Shake the bags to the coconut to coat evenly.
The mixture evenly distributed protein over all the snowballs.
Spreading you the tops with red, white and blue coconut sharing it under as well as among them and press it into the mix protein stick.
Makes 9 snowballs
